NIA has been formed to end terrorism in India . There was Mumbai attack on India in the year 2008. After which there was a need for an investigation agency which would be under the central government and which could keep an eye on terrorist activities and thwart them. Its formation is to investigate the incidents of funding terrorism, terrorist attacks and the people associated with them. What is NIA ?

NIA is a national investigation agency of India, which works towards preventing terrorist activities and ending terrorism in India. The Government of India has given it special powers to take concrete action against people found involved in terrorist activities, seize their property and declare that person or organization a terrorist. The state government has no right to interfere in this.

Full Form of NIA

The full form of NIA is National Investigation Agency , in Hindi language it is known as National Investigation Agency.

When was NIA formed ?

NIA was formed under the National Investigation Agency Bill 2008, an act passed by the Parliament of India on 31 December 2008. Its founding Director General was Radha Vinod Raju whose tenure ended on 31 January 2010.

How to get job in NIA ?

The recruitment process in NIA is done by the Staff Selection Commission , the recruitment process is done as per the requirement. Recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspector (SI) in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is done through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination. You can get selected for the post of SI by preparing for SSC graduate level examination.

Educational Qualification for SI in NIA

It is mandatory for the candidate to have passed graduation examination in any faculty from a recognized institute.

Salary

The salary for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) varies according to Indian cities. For Category X cities this salary will initially be Rs 43166/-. per month and for Category Y cities this salary starts at Rs 39492/- per month and for Category Z cities the salary starts at Rs 37664/- per month. Happens every month.
