History of Hajj

It is believed that the Mecca plains were completely deserted four thousand years ago. The Muslim community believes that Prophet Abraham instructed to bring his wife Hagar and son Ismail from Palestine to Arabia so that the jealousy of his first wife Sarah could be avoided. Allah asked Prophet Abraham to leave them to their fate, after which he gave them some food items and some water and he went away. After some time this material got exhausted. After this, Hagar and Ismail came down from the hill and asked Allah for help. Ismail stomped his feet on the ground and a stream of water gushed out from there, thus keeping him alive. When Prophet Abraham returned from Palestine, he saw both people alive. After this, Allah asked Prophet Abraham to dedicate a place of pilgrimage, after which Abraham and Ismail built a small cube of stone, which is called Kaaba.
