What to do to join NCC
The full form of NCC is National Cadet Corps. National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization of cadets from high schools, colleges and universities across India, which provides leadership for the future to the disciplined and patriotic youth of the college. Through NCC, school and college students are provided military training suitable for the Army, Navy and Air Force. At present, in the colleges where NCC course is available, students get admission through entrance exam. To become an NCC cadet, students have to pass aptitude and physical tests. Under NCC, students receive certificates A, B and C.
Students can enter NCC at two levels; first is at school level, where registration can be done in class 11th and 12th; second is at college level, where one has to join NCC in graduation part-1. A certificate is obtained at school level, whereas B and C certificates are obtained at college level.

Information related to NCC certificate
Under NCC, A certificate is for students below 15 years of age, maximum age to get ‘B’ certificate is 17 years, two years after getting ‘B’ certificate, students can get ‘C’ certificate, with ‘A’ certificate, students cannot get a higher post, maximum they can become CSM (Company Sergeant Major), while students getting B certificate get preference in JUO and students getting C certificate get preference in Army, Air Force, Navy as well as Para Military Services, they are placed in upper grade than general candidates, on the other hand, for higher studies, students getting C certificate get weightage of three percent marks in admission in any university of the country.

How to get admission in college
The option to make a career through National Cadet Corps is college. Studying for A-certificate in school makes it easy to get admission in higher education, but there is no possibility of getting a job from it. After getting admission in the first year of graduation, B-certificate is obtained and after getting admission in the second year, one joins NCC to obtain C-certificate. After one year of training, if the student has participated in the camp in the first year, then he can appear in the examination conducted for B-certificate. This examination is conducted by the NCC unit. If you have participated in the National Integration Camp in the second year of graduation, then you can participate in the examination conducted by the unit for C-certificate. This examination is of three hours. Apart from this, the student has to appear in the practical examination.

Directorate General National Cadet Corps
The Director General of the National Cadet Corps is a military officer of the rank of Lieutenant General. The Director General is assisted by two Additional Directors General (ADG), one a Major General of the Army and the other a Rear Admiral of the Navy or Vice Chief of the Air Staff of the Air Force. Under the Director General are the staff of the three services – Army, Navy and Air Force. There are five Deputy Directors General of the rank of Brigadier or equivalent, including three Brigadiers, one Navy, Air Force and one civilian officer.
The groups are subdivided into battalions, each group is commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel or his equivalent officer, drawn from the other two armies. Each battalion has a number of Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs), called the Permanent Instructional Staff, the senior-most JCO being of the rank of Subedar Major.
