What is a Veterinary Doctor ?
A veterinary doctor is called veterinary doctor in Hindi. Veterinarians diagnose the diseases of animals and treat them. Along with this, work like vaccination, surgery and operation of animals is also done by a veterinary doctor. Eligibility
To become a veterinary doctor, a candidate must have passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 50 percent marks.

How to become a Veterinary Doctor (Pashu Chikitsak Kaise Bane)
To pursue a career as a veterinarian, it is mandatory for students to first clear the entrance examination for veterinary studies. Earlier this examination was conducted by the name of All India Pre-Veterinary Examination, but now it is conducted through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The admission of students is decided on the basis of marks obtained in this examination. In India, 15 percent of the available seats are secured for admission through this examination, while the remaining seats are given to candidates from the state in which the veterinary institute is located.

Degree and diploma courses are available to become a veterinary doctor. You can do any of these courses-
- Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy (2 Year Diploma)
- Master of Veterinary Science (2-year degree)
- PhD in Veterinary Science (2 year degree)
- Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (5-year degree)
In this course you are given knowledge of both theory and practical. Initially you are taught subjects like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Nutrition, Livestock Management and Production, Pathology and Genetics etc. After this they are sent to veterinary hospitals for practical training.
